1951 AD Panel. Looking to convert my original park lamps to 12 volt turn signals (Turn signals only - no park lamps). Anyone know the 12-volt incandescent bulb number that will fit in the original socket?

You can replace the bulb sockets to double filament and keep the parking lights. The clear bulb would be an 1157 and amber bulbs colored too. And there are amber colored lenses available as well.

Rear lamp has 2 filaments.

Front parking/driving lamps had one filament, but a 2 filament replacement socket is available from most reproduction parts vendors.

What’s your source for amber LED lamps? My source SuperBrightLed discontinued the amber color. Although I’m using 6 volt lamps.

I bought my 1157 sockets from Classic Parts. Remove the 1156 socket and enlarge the hole to 3/4” and screw the new socket in. All LEDs are not the same as I found out. But the SuperBright lamps work great. My whole system is still 6 volt and the lamps couldn’t be brighter. If you stay 6 volt the flasher has to be an electronic one.

I also checked with Highway Patrol and they said white lights in the front are good to go.
