I blowtorched, banged on, oiled and ground the kingpins out of a straight axle. I have a couple of questions:

1. There seems to be a bushing in the axle, my king pin kit didn't come with an axle bushing?

2. Are the spindles right left specific?

1950 Chevrolet suburban. Stock everything.

Bushing in axle would be a previous repair. May want to look for better axle beam.

Spindles are same left and right.

Some info on fitting new pins and bushings

Oh boy......I hope I do not need to tear apart another axle. Those king pins are a bear to get out.

They're not always difficult to remove.

If a replacement axle beam is the safe answer or the correct answer, don't let the work dissuade you.
