I recently bought back my 3600 that I owned 13 years ago. While rolling around on the ground under it greasing the various fittings I noticed the lower right fitting was missing. I cleaned up the hole and have tried to install grease fittings from two different sources and they just will not screw into place. Knowing that lack of lube is a major factor in King Pin failures I need to figure out how to get a new one in there. At this time the truck drives very nicely on the road without wandering.

Pull the fitting from the other side and carry it with you next time you go fitting shopping. I do suspect someone will chime in with the proper size so you can shop online though.

Did someone break off the old one, the reason you cannot insert a new one? Is the hole open and can you see the threads?

Yes, the threads are showing. I tried to clean up the fitting hole and the new fitting still won't screw in.

I ran into the same problem. The FLAPS have a bunch of metric thread Zerks. They get mixed up. They don't know what the are. They are so close that nobody knows. The nature of pipe threads is that they are interference fit. This makes this small problem very difficult and you can damage the female threads on the truck and then you are screwed. The metric ones will start in and if you crank on them because you think it's normal pipe tightness, it's Kings X.

Get a 1/8 NPT female coupling from Home Depot, take it with you to FLAPS and make sure the next Zerk fits into it easily. You can't measure the difference between Metric and NPT. You can't even hardly compare the difference. You need the Home Depot "Go/No-Go" gauge.

If they are in a package, READ the package. 90% are metric. Don't trust the counter guy!!!!!!!! He drives a Rice Burner and thinks a Zerk is a Greek Sandwich.

Just went under the truck with a bright flashlight. The threads are NOT showing. It looks like the fitting broke off just below flush with the surface.

A small ez out may do the trick but be very careful not to break it off in the fitting. A small Phillips head screwdriver may also get enough grip to turn the fitting loose.
