My recently on the road 1950 4100 red fire truck was in need of a quick clean-up that hadn't been washed forever so I could have my dad drive it for Father's Day. The truck is from his hometown in NW Kansas 500 miles away, and was new when he was 14. I used Dawn soap, and a bunch of Magic Erasers to wash it, followed by a quick wax job on the cab forward using Collinte 845. That stuff goes on like butter, and doesn't stain, or chalk the suede patina paint. It will even bead water now. I used more wax than it would take to wax 10 shiny cars, but it worked very well. I'll keep trying to use that method, working it some more, since coating the patina with clear coat doesn't seem like the best idea either. This was so easy for the limited amount of time I had that morning to make it look better than it had in over a dozen years.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile
