Finally putting my 1948 1/2 back together and was installing a new/repro front splash guard in front of the radiator. I could not get it lower because of these brackets. One located on each side on the front bumper support. I went ahead and removed them and the splash guard went in quite easy.
Attached is a photo of the L-brackets I'm referring to. On the top they have a oblong hole.
Might have been a bracket for some sort of accessory or push bumper. ðŸ›
