Which product do you guys recommend? One side of gasket or both sides? Any other tips? Many gaskets say NO sealer at all. Use Felpro and search the gasket number for instructions if there are none in the package.

I've been using it for close to 60 years so far without any problems. Jerry

Once your engine heats up, this stuff will melt, run out of the joint and then the seal will fail. I'd use what Jerry suggested or the Permatex Aviation sealer. Jon

Permatex makes a sealer specifically for your application. It's called Water Pump & Thermostat Housing Gasket Maker. The part number is 22071. Although it can be used instead of a gasket a light coating on both sides of a gasket seems to work really well.
I found out the hard way to NOT use Permatex Hylomar HPF to seal coolant.
