In November 2016 I got a 49-3100--it is almost finished. If my Wife ever knew....It was full of nests and droppings. There was even a nest in the old headliner. Did all the vacuuming at the PO's home, so she never knew. The solution is buy liquid peppermint at health food store, put in a cotton ball and wrap in tinfoil. I have done this for the woodpile, shelves in Garage and under the front seat of all vehicles. no more rodents...

This topic comes up every so often. Another solution for putting your truck in storage for awhile, cut slices of Irish Spring soap bars and put them in all the nooks and crannies. For those of you vacuuming rat/mouse droppings out of your barn finds, be sure to use, at the very minimum, a dust mask. The Hantavirus is nothing to make light of.🛠

Also, put the "repellent" in lower rear cab corners (after cleaning them out and clearing the weep hole in each side).

I had read somewhere, maybe on this site, that Bounce dryer sheets would repel rodents. I put them in all the drawers in my tool boxes and the mice loved them. They shredded them up for nesting material.

They love Irish Spring also. I've got bars with teeth marks on them to prove it.

My kitty doesn’t have mice bites! 😜 hehehe!

I’ve tried soap, steel wool, etc but those little buggers kept coming. Cats work but then you have cats. A tough compromise for some, but not too bad if you heed Bob Barker’s advice.😉

I've heard that moth balls work.

I use lots of traps baited with peanut butter. Catch mice and moles.

I have used moth balls. In the Spring/Summer (after truck hibernation), remove the math ball and put the truck outside on a few hot/warm days (with windows closed) - air out after a few hot hours, each day.

Any areas that they could possibly get into the cab I used epoxy and steel screen to cover the openings. Under the floor mats, under the seat, inside the cowl openings, etc. Haven't had a problem since.

I've caught dozens of mice with bucket traps. I keep one in the shed to keep them out of the tractors and other garden machines. One in the garage and one in the attic. If they are placed in an area that gets cold in the winter I put a little antifreeze in to keep the water from freezing. If you are not familiar with these google "bucket mouse traps". They work great. I've caught close to 2 dozen mice with out having to rebait at times.

I use live traps, then I turn them loose at people's houses I don't like ;-)
