Boys, I need your help finding a 1941 GMC Big Bolt rim. I have looked and listed in the parts wanted/parts for sale sections, and after one year no luck. The rim is a 20" five lug center locating type. i need either a narrow front or if i can't find that, will raise the front and use a wider rear rim and tire depending on which one I can find. Please call if you have one. Peter 714-290-2470

I’m pretty new to the big bolts but now I have two of them all of my 20 inch rims are a 10 bolt pattern the front ones look like they’re five bolt but they’re the same as the rear 10 bolt if you’re looking for tubeless rims for that GOOD LUCK I’ve been doing it for three months solid looking for them if you need split rings I might have a one or two if you want a 10 bolt.
I looked at my 1940 1 1/2 ton this weekend that has 5 bolt wheels. The wheel studs appear to be larger diameter. I do not have any extra wheels for this, but will pass along your info to the new owner in case he plans to swap them out.
I suppose you could drill out the holes in a 10 lug wheel? I would drill all 10, just the 5. This would leave a little more meat around the holes....
Yup! That rim is EXACTLY the type I'm looking for! One at drive width 7.5X20, and the other at steer width4.5X20. The cooling slots are the right shape too (Peaked Moorish arch VS. Roman arch)

@ Ed Pruss Thank you Ed, I hope we are in luck on this! Truck is just waiting for me to install the original chariot type flatbed now sliding and tilting for use as a car carrier.

I believe those center locate with the same bolt pattern but am not sure. What type and size nuts does it use? Mine are 3/4-16 UNF with flat bottoms indicating a center hole locating rim. In the case of extra holes one may use a five hole ring overlay for looks and safety.

My 41 has the skinny wheels up front. I don't know if they have 5 holes or 10. The rear is a 10 lug, so I would assume that the front is as well. I am picking up a 38 sometime this week and will see if he has any extra rims to go with it. I also saw a post on FB that had some of these wheels in the background. I messaged him and he says they are bad. I have ask how bad?
Hy Superbee, do your wheel nuts have a large washer on them, one that can rotate independent of the nut? If so you have Motor wheels. I may have some here, but shipping from B.C. to California will be expensive, would you like me to look for some?
We need to make sure if you have motor wheels like 'master gabster' says, or Budd wheels, first, then we can proceed. Can you post what your existing wheel with bolt and nut looks like? I only have 5 or 6 off my '37 GMC. They are 5 on 8".

'54 GMC 630 w/ 503 gasser, 5 speed, ex fire truck, shortened WB 4', install 8' bed. '55 GMC 370 w/270, 420 4 speed, grain, dump bed truck from ND. Works OK.
The guy did message me back that he would sell each wheel for $25. He posted in the Model T and A parts page on FB. He is in Tennessee. Let me know if you can't find him.
You may also find it interesting that my 1940 GMC 1 1/2 ton has 5 lug wheels on the rear, but the 1938 1 1/2 ton I picked up tonight has 10 lug wheels on it.
Peter, Did you find the guy with the 5 lug wheels? I did sell my 40 GMC over the weekend, but I will pass along your information to the guy as he might be putting the cab on a different chassis.
