I just finished blasting my suburban's body and found the passenger side lower rear quarter and the rocker box area look like a sieves. None of my traditional parts sources have suburban quarter panels. Does anyone know of a source for quarter panels? Will a fleet side truck bed side work? They are available but costly. I checked previous threads and tend to doubt the latter, but there was some discussion about the lower portion of a step side. If anyone has experience repairing suburban quarter panels I could really use some advice.
common problem for all TF burbs and panels, caused by the pinchwelded bottom trapping rust flaking off the back of inner and outer .... no, a fleet bedside won't work, although you could hack out pieces to make patches with - comparison, green fleet, blue panel .... you're lookin at some serious metal shaping from flat panels for that tail, although pieces of front fenders can be used to patch the rolled edge of the wheel opening

Thanks Bill, I was hoping you would respond. I read your response to a similar question posted several years ago about the same problem with a 57 Suburban; you were defending the preservation of original steel. I suspected little had changed to ease my plight. Oh well, sheet metal here we come.
