...he has running boards. Can something like those be put on a regular 1 ton? I'd like to add running boards someday.

Hey Sable ,ya the cab's are the same so the boards will work.I'm just not sure how it will look with out the flared fender.Oh by the way I've got a mint set of those fenders and boards,and may consider parting with them ,maybe!!

The cabs are the same until you get to the bottom of the rocker panels. The big bolts have a rocker extension that infills the area between the bottom of the rocker to the top of the factory running boards. It is not a direct bolt-on. Additionally, the big bolt fenders have flares, as well as extensions on the cab corners. You may be better off fabricating something, otherwise you will need the extensions for the fenders, rockers and corners. Also, the frame rails on the big bolts are lower, thus the running boards mount directly to them.

Shoot...hmmm. Ok, I'll have to pause in my enthusiasm of the running boards. Maybe one day I'll park mine next to another and see.

Hey Tony! Thought you were out of town, must be taking a break to see what is going on here. Yea, I have done something. :rolleyes:
The tranny started to leak like a sieve after a couple of trips. (It was nearly empty before I came to visit your yard...I filled it and took it there and then up to Excelsior Springs.) After it came home she proceded to put all the tranny fluid back on the driveway.
So I pulled the PTO last night, got new gaskets over lunch...and hope to have her buttoned back up by tomorrow evening.

I am in NY, however the good thing about the internet and the stovebolt is they are available from anywhere and it is open 24/7. I always have time for some truck fun, no later where I am.

Keep us posted on the tranny/pto issue.

Sable I don't see any rocker extensions and cab corner extensions and so on, the boards on my 61 viking bolt right to the bottom of the rocker and the supports bolt straight up to the torque boxes.Then there is a rubber gasket between the rocker and board.And yes these are factory GM boards not after market.Granted you will still need the fender extentions like I had said earlier! :confused:

To clarify my previous post, the running boards have a rocker extension and cab corner extension. The front fender flares are an additional part, as well.
