I’m almost to the point of being ready to install vent and side windows in a ‘53 1/2ton and ordering weather strip for the doors. What would be the best order to do the install? Should the glass go in first or should weather strip be installed, then the glass.........or would it matter?

The weather strip and windows are not interdependent. (Unless you are referring to the window run channels which does make a difference.) The weatherstrip around the door needs to be installed with the door off the cab, inside up on a sawhorse. The door is much lighter to handle with the glass out, but could be done in either order. Window install should be done with doors on the cab.

We read your question about the door, the glass and the weatherstrip. It doesn't really matter how you do it, the one problem you would have with the door on the truck is the weather stripping, you'd have a problem putting the weather stripping on because it to close to the cowl with the hinges. So you need to have the door off for that part. The window and the other parts can be installed on or off the truck. Make sure when you start working on that window stuff make sure you give the nuts and bolts a good soaking of Liquid Wrench because they are going to be rusted. (Take your time).
