Hey there . My interest lies in the '72 and 53 halfton pickup. Interested in the 292 inline 6.
72 body style is my top favorite, but started to have a liking for the 53 and that slat grill . Also drawn to the inline 6 engines. I welcome insight and friendly conversation

Wendell, I had a 71, and 72, back a few years ago and both were good trucks. One of them was a work truck and the other more of a leisure type daily driver. I ran'em hard and they held up well.

Just a thought....as you may already know, not everyone stops in here at the welcome centre every time they come visit. I'm just saying this as you may want to ask some questions... how/what/when/where type questions in the garage forums. It will get you more interaction, and knowledge, than you can see here.

The AD years, with the "slatted" grille is a popular model and parts are available. They boo-coo's of them so many parts are re-popped and many can be gotten from individual members by posting in the Swap Meet Forums.

....be sure to also watch for other members that are close to you. Believe me, Stovebolters are everywhere, which is a good thing. Good luck on your pursuits.

Welcome to the site. 72 was a great year wasn't it? The 292 is a good motor, that what is in my 52. Best to ask specific questions in the relevant garage forums like achipmunk mentioned - you'll get all the help and direction you need from extremely knowledgeable people.
Enjoy!
