Any thoughts? I was planning to change the 2.56 to 3.73 rear end with the T-5.
Comments either way.

It is currently installed in the truck and came out of an S-10. I guess my main reason for considering changing back is I have never rebuilt a rear end and am not sure where to start. I'm sure I could find something on the internet, but this conversation just started so I haven't progressed that far yet. I have plenty of time since the truck is still off the frame anyway, just the frame, engine and tranny there.

You wouldn't have to use 5th gear. You will have smoother shifts with closer ratio's.

If I don't like it, go to different rear end gears then.

I think of T-5's as being car transmissions...BUT I have never owned one so maybe I'm wrong in my thinking. I plan to use it as a daily driver, not much hauling. I have two other trucks to haul anything of size.
