Took 250 out of 66 k10. 292 is going in its place. Moved passengerside perch forward. Frame holes were all there for alignment and fit. Now looking at perch it appears the passengerside perch sets up higher than the driverside based on frame geometry. Am i looking for something that levels or do things work out when motor mounts are bolted to engine? Or is the whole experience an illusion.

I believe the passenger's side perch for the 292 is shaped a little different than the one for the 250. The 250 mount will bolt in, but apparently it's not going to have the right geometry for the engine to be installed properly. Someone posted a picture of a 292 right side mount recently, and there appears to be a difference in height, or angle, or both. Jerry

I just made a mistake ordering some front suspension parts for the Ram pickup I just bought, and now I have to do a return and refund, since the mail-order shipper claimed they couldn't make changes in the order. I've got a feeling the right parts are going to come from somewhere else! Good luck! Jerry

The 292 k mount is shorter. That's the biggest difference. I would post a picture of one but I can't compress it below 300kb limit. I try to keep those around. I can get you the dimensions so you can modify the v8 and 230-250 six mount. That's the least expensive way.
Barry, Added a picture of the perches that came with my 66 K10 with 250. 3rd picture is the passengerside perch moved to 292 location. Pix 2 is the passengerside engine mount from the K 10 250. I appreciate your thoughts before I venture out with a fabrication project.

Need to mention, the 292 went into the K10 yesterday. All pieces (perches, brackets, rubber pieces and spacers (passengerside only)) moved from 250 and met with the 292 without missing a beat. Apparently alot of unnecessary worry.

Good job. It makes sense that you didn't have much to worry about; the 292 was an optional engine for the K10 in 1966. So all of the pieces and parts were once OEM. Good luck with the rest of your build.
