Has anyone modified the voltage regulator box to hide a fuse box? FYI, you can always spend the big bucks and get the alternator that looks like a stock generator.

Modified VR Box (My 48 is pretty much externally stock but otherwise I’ve made quite a few changes.) I also run another fuse block up under the dash above the e-brake for everything else. Then you can remove the cover with just 1/4 turn of the fasteners with a screwdriver.

| | | | | Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 29,792 Kettle Custodian (pot stirrer) | | Kettle Custodian (pot stirrer) Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 29,792 | I'd suggest replacing the metal bottom of the regulator housing with something non-conductive like Bakelite to minimize the risk of getting a short circuit. Leave a small metal perimeter and attach the phenolic bottom to it with rivets or sheet metal screws. Then mount the fuse block to that piece.
