I got a rebuilt water pump for my 51 from a fellow stovebolter and I notice it doesn’t have the metal backing plate my old pump has. I have tried getting the old one off but it appears to be unremoveable due to the two big screws being impossibe to remove without damaging. Is this something I can buy or do I have to salvage this one?

Thanks, Troy

Heat and penetrating oil should loosen those screws. If you can find an impact driver with a bit that's a close fit to the screw heads, that should work, also.
