I have a 72 k-5 blazer tucked up in garage that the paint is getting thin enough to show the fiberglass.the orginal paint has a texture to it and is semi gloss to flat.Does any one know how or where to refinish to near orginal looks
thanks

I've been doing some looking Tom & all I was able to find was that someone said that the texture in contained in the paint. If I find something else, I'll let you know. I'll see if any of my dealership contacts can help.

cool thing a.d. hawk
i'm not in a big hurry it'll be a couple more weeks till it warms up enought to think about it.

I sprayed some primer that was not thinned enough with a #2 needle and kind of spit the texture out but was not consistent for some thing as large as the topper on the blazer

I'm guessing this was probably a gel coat instead of paint and was originally applied to the fiberglass mold, and then the fiberglass laid on top. It will be difficult to duplicate. You may want to talk to a marine or aviation fiberglass shop about it- they repair this kind of stuff all the time.
