Looking at the picture below, I see what looks like a black mat on the running board. Or maybe it just painted black with a chrome strip on the edge, or a chrome running board all together. I'm trying to duplicate what I see in the picture, so does anyone know where I can buy a pre molded mat that fits over the ribs of the running board for a 3100 shortbed? And, does anyone sell a chrome or stainless trim piece that goes along the edge of the running board (if the running board isn't chromed all together)? Thanks
Ken--Am almost done on a 49 3100. We used spray on bed liner on the top of running boards, It is very durable. I hand painted the underside of RB with bedliner as well as all frame parts. Bill
What Bill said. Bedliner is the way to go on running boards. That's my plan when I get that far. I put it on the Lund running boards I added to my Superduty. They work well and are VERY durable.
BTW, Bill, your Flickr link doesn't work.

It sill look like a rubber mat on the pic above. I've searched all the parts houses, but nobody has it. I may have something custom made if I can't find it off the shelf.
