Hello to everyone. Haven't posted in a while but try to keep up with what's going on. I was, just wondering was there a serial number on the frame of a1949 Chevy 3100 1/2 ton truck. If so where do you look? Thank you as always

Short answer....NO. Chevy didn’t start until mid 50’s.

No frame serial number was put on the frames (by GM) of 47-55st Chevrolet trucks.

Some members have reported frame codes on California A-D trucks - put on by DMV and/or CA State Police.
