Gents, earlier this afternoon (about 3 hrs ago) I installed new oil pan gasket & timing gear cover gasket + RTV Silicone all around. I've buttoned everything back up, re-installed the crank pulley, fan blade, belt, radiator, etc....
Now I'm eager to add some Oil & Coolant and fire it up and see if (fingers crossed) the leaks are no more.
Question is: About how long is it necessary to wait for the RTV to set? Apologies in advance for not reading the label on the RTV package (fine print is too small for me) - but alas, how long to wait now? | | | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 7,441 Bolter | | Bolter Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 7,441 | The package will say 24 hours. Should you wait that long? I wouldn’t but that’s just me.

Eager to fire it up and see if the leaks are all gone, don't want to wait that long. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 9,115 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 9,115 | I use RTV and I always leave it overnight.
