Hi,

I have a question about door latches. I have a '52 3100 with a bunged up door, and a good door from a '51. Obviously they have different door handles and internal latch mechanisms. I am wondering if anyone has transferred the push button door handle and latch to an older door, and what the challenges were if it was successful. Please let me know.

Thank you,

Ed

That door you have is valuable. You can't buy a repop '51 door that I know of. You should see if you can work out a trade with someone who has a dire need for a '51 door and who has a good '52 & up door.

It would be a very trying adventure to convert a turn down door into a push button door.
As Keven eluded to, a '51 door is a one year only deal making it somewhat hard to find. Sell it at a premium, and find a less rare 52-55.1 door.

Thanks for the advice. I'll look for another door.

If you find an extra, decent left side push button door, send me a PM.
