You're not likely to get much, if any air into the system by simply loosening a fitting. It might help to find leaky fittings if you prop the brake pedal down and keep a little pressure on the lines for a while, maybe with a piece of broom stick cut off to wedge between the brake pedal and the steering wheel.

'37 GMC T-18 w/ DD 4-53T, RTO-610, 6231 aux., '95 GMC running gear, full disc brakes, power steering, 22.5 wheels and tires.
'47 GMC 1 ton w/ 302, NP-540, 4wd, full width Blazer front axle.
'54 GMC 630 w/ 503 gasser, 5 speed, ex fire truck, shortened WB 4', install 8' bed.
'55 GMC 370 w/270, 420 4 speed, grain, dump bed truck from ND. Works OK.

get back under the vehicle and see if I could see the leak, should not be that hard to do..

I leave it up on jack stands for a couple of days while it's rainy out to see if I fixed it.
I find that one needs not be in a hurry dealing with these old trucks.

because they can go ever where such as coolant and oil... leaking brakes should be a little easier
