I am keeping the bench seat. I'm not sure if any aftermarket suppliers still make a floor shift conversion specifically for your vehicle. Probably the best you can do is find a "universal" 3 speed floor shift conversion. You will likely have to modify it to clear the seat.

I suggest you google floor shift conversion kits and see what is on the market. The majority of those conversion shifters were marginal at best. I have one on my 1962 C10 and it’s reliable but sort of sloppy. I believe it is a Mr Gasket brand.
This thread should probably go to the HiPo forum since it deals with a modification from stock, but I will leave it here for now and see if more answers follow.

They work fine when they are tightened up and adjusted properly. Also, floor shift conversions don't really make it shift faster, they just make it easier to break stuff.

I had a brain cramp and totally forgot about the torque tube. Could the 47 tranny output be swapped to his 56 to fit his open drive? | | | | | Joined: Jan 2000 Posts: 591 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2000 Posts: 591 | I put a 3 speed floor shifter in my 1957 truck, it has an OD synchro trans.
This is what I got from Hurst:
"Hurst has two options for you;
HUU-3667271 shifter and HUU-3670010 installation kit. It is listed for a Chevelle but it will work with your transmission and the stick has a big bend for seat clearance.
HUU-5010002 is your second option. It is the Indy SSA shifter for the 3 speed and has a slightly bent stick for the seat."
I took the first option. Because it is an OD trans, I bent the shifter a bit more to make it fit, Also I installed bucket seats with a center console. I believe with
a regular 3 speed, it would install closer to the front of the truck.
