Amsoil also has a break in oil with very high levels to provide cam lobe protection. Use that. When you feel the rings have seated, 1500-2000 miles. Then put in the Amsoil 10w40, worked for me in my 1959 235 engine.

However, it is not needed on stovebolt engines 216/235/261 after break-in.
I use a high ZDDP break-in-in oil on my newly rebuilt stovebolt engines. After break-in, I use the Shell Rotella 10w40 or 15w40 after that (whichever is cheaper).
