I bought a chevy truck shop manual, the cover said 1948-1953. However when I got it, it was not what had been pictured, but instead said 1947-1951 with a '52 supplement. When I asked I got a very "short" response about that being the same book. I'm doing a lot of work on my truck now with suspension, drive shaft, engine, brakes, bearings etc... and want to make sure I have the right info for my 1953 3600. Is there a book that includes 1953, or is this guy right?

No, there does not appear to be a specific reproduction manual available for the 1953 Chevrolet trucks.

Those trucks are very similar to the 1952 trucks. As you posted, there is/was a 1952 Supplement that was/is used with earlier manuals.

The reproduction manual you referred-to is here.
The same manual on CD-ROM is here.

There are some differences though. I believe '53 was the first year for Bendix brakes on the 3600.

I think you are correct, and the both the front and rear brake shoe areas changed (53 from 52).
The standard generator amperage also changed.

So there's no manual that I can get that I can trust is for my truck? Bummer. Well, that makes me all the more glad for this site.

As posted above, there is a 48-51/52 manual online (or for sale) and there is a 1954 manual on-line (or for sale). You can fairly-easily get by using both manuals.

It is odd that there was/is no 1953 Truck Shop Manual (or 1954 supplement).
