Installed a new Okie bushing that came with my 3:55 R & P kit but for the life of me I can't get the U-joint yoke to fit the new Okie bushing. I had to bang in the new Okie bushing pretty hard with a piece of wood and big hammer so before installing the drive shaft I made sure the front bushing edge didn't have a ridge and was smooth. I'm kicking myself for not test fitting the yoke and the Okie bushing before installing it. I'm sure the yoke is slip fit and I shouldn't have to bang it in. Any advice is welcome.

Art,

This article has pictures of how I pulled the torque tube bushings without any special tools.

The information may help you pull the ill fitting bushing.
