Are there any decent working or quality antennas on the market for original radio in a 53 Chevy PU?. Have not drilled any holes yet, but leaning toward original. Jim Carter says he has them, but wondering about the quality.
Thanks in advance!!!

Go with the Jim Carter product. It comes with the template and instructions so you drill your hole in the correct location. Two of my trucks have his antenna and they are great quality.

Many vendors sell the same expensive/correct reproduction 47-55st antenna (sold by Jim Carter, etc).

Here is the template/instruction sheet that they all provide.

Tim,

You got that right about expensive! Hopefully the quality is as high as the price? It will be the only piece of chrome on my truck. He He He.
Thanks for the template.

Regards

Kevin

Kevin,

The cowl trim piece is chromed, but the antenna is stainless steel.

I do have a piece of stainless on the visor. Hopefully it will clear that as well. Just eyeballing it, it will be close!!!

Has any one installed a power up and down antenna, if so where did you put it. I have a 1954 that Iam rebuilding and would like to have decent reception

I have not seen a power antenna for these AD trucks.
