I checked the connections at the relay. One connection appeared to be poor. Also the horn contact insert seemed worn down. The problem now is the horn sounds if I connect the disconnected wire to the middle terminal. Is that the correct placement? I am pretty sure that is where it was? Otherwise the horn button must be grounded without pressing the button. Please check the photo .. i wanted to attach a photo..forum doesn't allow a simple method from my phone gallery.

The reasons that don't allow it are explained on the main page and are valid. Your relay is a single pole-single throw type switch or relay. Grounding one side of the relay, via the horn button, moves a relay contactor to make connection between the 6 or 12 volt connection and the horn connection. Remove the horn wire and alligator clip in a bulb or voltmeter (to save your ears). Move the wires around until you get it right. You will not hurt anything.
