| | | | Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 1,001 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 1,001 | After Homecoming, I made a plan to get my 41 (350/700r4) running, moving, and stopping on it's own before the end of June. I've been working towards that and MAY make it. Anyway, I put a power brake system on it. I ran into some issues with my rear end, so decided to install front brakes only--for now--just to reach my goal---a deal with the rear end later. That way I can test out all of the other systems.
My question is, can I just plug the outlet on the master cylinder that leads to the rear brakes and expect the front brakes to engage properly, or will that not work?

Does your new system have a combination valve incorporated into it? Well, it started with you :), You may remember you helped me identify the rear end in my truck as a 55-59 HO52 FF 3/4-1ton.
I found that parts were difficult to get for them, like brakes. My desire was to run dually's (8x19.5), so thought it would be good to go with a 14 bolt. So, researched those for a couple of weeks, and know I need one from a C&C. One thing lead to another, as they usually do, and this put me way behind my schedule. That's when I decided to deal with the rear later.
But now I know I need to do something different.

I bought the entire setup and when my drums dies someday I will swap them.

I found some brake wheel cylinders on Rockauto yesterday. That will enable me to put everything back together to get it moving and stopping.
I do want to run dually's eventually. But can't swing it right now. I'm at the point that if that's the ONLY thing I need to deal with, I'm a lucky man!!!
