On the back of tach i have two "posts", one reading "ignition sw" and one reading "trigger" this is a 12v system and has a ground wire. My question is; is the trigger the lead that goes to the distributer/coil? negative or positive? The sender looked like a big voltage regulator with a brown Bakelite cover.
Later models eliminated the sending unit and the unobtanium batteries. Some vintage instrument restoration places used to convert the senders to solid state internal circuitry so the box would appear original from the outside.
