I want to convert my oil bath air filter to a dry-type filter and still maintain the look of the oil bath and I followed the information provided in the Tech Tips. I am in the planning stage so I haven't cut anything. My problem is that the K&N air filter suggested for use in the Tech Tips (K&N E-9216) is no longer in production and there is no replacement filter from K&N. My search for a different manufacturer has so far been unsuccessful. I want to get a dry-type filter before making the first cut. Once I start cutting there is no return.
I am open for suggestions of other possible manufacturers and part numbers.

I was told that they are still in production, but currently out of stock. The estimated date for shipping is July 11.

Thanks for posting the pictures. My current set-up is an oil bath air filter where the top part sits completely down inside the bottom 'bowl' meaning there is a certain amount of removing existing material from the top part to make the conversion. | | |
