Replaced the clutch and presser plate last year. New stuff from NAPA. Local store seems to like us folks looking for old stuff. New bits included a new throw out bearing as part of a "kit". The new bearing was a bit different. Instead of the big cutout area for the release arm points, there are a bunch of raised "ribs" that should stop the outer shell from rotating...should. They do however make the most obnoxious sound when they spin past the release arm ends. The release arm seems happy to remove them in a slow machine tool function. The clutch works fine. It just sometimes sounds like a ball mill at high speed. Gotta fix it some day. Look out for this type of bearing...I won't use one like this again.
