The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Engine Shop Suddenly smoking more than normal

Hi, so I pulled the old 54 out of the garage for spring a did my usual changes, oil, grease, etc. I did overfill the oil by about a quart or so on accident, bu the engine rear main seal and some other gaskets leak like a siv so I figured it wouldn't be a major issue. I had been getting normal oil pressure before the change and everything seemed ok. However, I ran it around yesterday and realized that I wasn't getting the normal oil pressure that I usually do, at idle it's almost zero, high idle reaching around 30 or just above. I also realized that it's blowing more smoke than normal. Any Ideas what could have happened or how I can fix this?

How long did it set w/o starting? Rings might have taken a set and will seal up after it runs awhile. Letting these trucks set without running for several months sure doesn't help them any.

The rods are dipping into the oil and whipping it into a froth- - - - -you're trying to lubricate with foam instead of liquid. Drain a little oil and get the level back where it belongs before you burn some bearings or do other expensive damage. You're also splashing more oil onto the cylinder walls than the rings can scrape away which is causing the smoke.
