NOTICE

The Presidential Motorcade will depart from Fredericksburg VA at 0900 Friday morning. Meeting location TBD based on interest in participation.

The ride to HQ is one of the season's best. From FB there will be NO interstate travel. A sprint down scenic RT3 to 301 then over the Nice bridge a wiggle through the woods and arrive within 90 minutes.

Faster if Y'all can keep up!!

eeeek

I am staying in Harrisonburg on Thursday night. I might try and make the convoy. My cousin and his wife have to go to Port Royal early.

Alec, Tim, and I are, or had been, tentatively planning to depart Lexington at 7-8ish Friday morning.
Assuming a stop for breakfast on the way and for ethanol free gas at the Fredriicksburg Southern States we'd be leaving F'burg after the president.

The other Grigg to arrive by himself later Friday evening or early Saturday (before the breakfast we're fixing).

Maybe the welcoming committee will provide escort whence you cross the great divide. Let us know when you depart.

Hi Everyone,

I'd really like to make it to the Homecoming this year (which would be my first), but am not sure that I can due to uncertainty about family schedules.

I saw the note about ethanol free gas in Fredericksburg and wanted to add that the Wawa in Central Park also has ethanol free gas. So, depending on which end of town you are on, you have a choice. If you do go to the Wawa, just look for the pumps with the blue handles.

My truck, sadly, is still not running. I am making progress, albeit slowly. So if I can make it to the event, I won't be driving a stovebolt.... Hopefully that wouldn't be looked at too negatively...at least wouldn't be driving a Ford there! I haven't replied to the main thread due to the uncertainty of my schedule, but if I can break away I would just be a day tripper for Saturday.

Anyway, just wanted to add info about the gas. I hope everyone has a great time!

Ghost,

You will have fun with or without a Stovebolt! I am pulling my truck out there for the first time. I have an open seat if you want to ride down Friday at noon and come back sat after dinner.

Chris,

Thanks for the ride offer! There's no way I could break away for 2 days. I really would like to meet everyone in person, though, so I'll see what I can do for Saturday.

For first timers, the initiation can be a little harsh.
But don't worry, there will be no marks anyone can see.
You will not be an issue, I'll be driving a Ford and will take the heat.

Unfortunately, I will be too. That or a Toyota. And I'm just a few miles down the road.

Those with trailers, meet in the Walmart parking lot on RT3 East. We will depart there around 0930.

This is the one on Rt3 East, NOT Central Park.

The Lexington crew will be lagging behind somewhat.
See y'all at HQ.

Be prepared for some delays.
They were working on the bridge and down to one lane,
I waited a good 15 minutes to get moving slow again.
There were also two more one lane spots that I was flagged thru.

We're tied up in F'burg for a little while yet.
Then stop for gas (and lunch?) and hit the road again.
