Rear wheel brake adjustment on 1949 chevy 1.5 or 2 ton...How to make that adjustment? I have bleed & bleed the brakes both front & rear, they still will not hold the pedal up they work after pumping 3-4 times. I'm thinking the adjustment is just too far-out. I have adjusted the fronts but no luck on the rears!

Have you followed the procedure described in the Shop Manual?

Do you have a Hydro-Vac unit on your truck?

I do have a hydro vac... it is new (rebuilt by qualified rebuilder ?).

I have not followed the shop manual, as I do not have one.

Thanks Tim...got it. My rear backing plate(s) have two adjusting screws (bolts)on each side, each side of the truck, not each side of backing plate. Do you use each (both) equally?
