I SPENT a hall day going to many salvage yards trying to find wheels to fit my truck. And found none. Because you have to remember that you need a wheel that has less than 4.25 inches of back space on the wheel to fit. So I went onto etrailer.com. I purchased the 8 lug std. steel wheel. I mounted them on the truck and sure as heck, they fit perfectly. There is almost an inch clearance between the tie rod ends and the new wheels. I am Sooooo happy!!!

Hy Steve Elliott, welcome, some time ago I assisted in the build of a 1952 one ton pickup, the owner bought some wheels from a F@#d Econoline van and they fit and cleared the tierods.

Steve, I did the exact same thing. Fit is great, look is good however....my tire shop guy said two of the wheels were not up to vehicle standards (fine for trailers though?) on run-out. My response was since I didn't expect to drive much over 60 and they were all mounted up with new 215 85 16s they'd be worth a try.

Well, they are very OK. However over about 62mph there is a vibration that is very likely wheel/tire related. But since I'm happy running 60 it's not a problem.

I appreciate the information about the wheels. That is good to know. I don't plan on going more than 55 mph. Thanks

Here is an older thread dealing with issues associated 3600 owners. It has a lot of info. Hopefully this will shed some light to all. A picture of my wheels here. Have fun and good luck
