I might have found a source for wheels for the 52 6400, but of course they are not from that model. So my question is, are all 6 wheels the same on a dually? I found a guy with a barn full of wheels and tires and he is going to let me go through them and see what I can use before he scraps the rest of them.

they should be. With the 5/10 lug pattern, they all have 10 holes but the front only uses every-other hole.

Thanks, I should get to see them in the next few days. Keep your fingers crossed! Maybe there will be enough to sell a few.

Take the measurements of the center hole and bolt circle. Both have to match.

If correct bolt circle the center hole can be dealt with, either a bushing, or bore the wheels out. Neither is simple/free unless you have the equipment.
For example if you found 22.5" wheels with correct pattern it'd be worth dealing with the center hole if not already correct.

Many wheels have stamped dimensions (8 x 22.5j) when new, look for them.

Thanks to all. He said he thought he saw a bunch of 20 bolt mounted with 9 x 22.5 wheels. I have a local machine shop who had made a few parts for me and I'm sure he could build a bushing for me. If I can get them for the right price it would be worth it.

While you are there, mind looking for 6 lug stud centered Budd type 20 or 22.5 inch wheels? Narrower the better.

Paul_WNC, how much should I expet him to want for them? I don't expect he will give away everything.

If you mentioned he was going to scrap them, I would start with the value of scrap.

For example, assume the tire/wheel assembly weighs 100 pounds and delivered scrap metal is 5 cents per pound...$5 each would be where you start negotiating. Keep in mind that scrap metal dealers really don't want to see mounted tire/wheel assemblies.

Good Luck!

Around here I figure $20 to have a tire shop remove big old crispy stuck truck tire from a rim, and few more $ to dispose of it.
Paying that later won't leave a lot or room to pay for the wheels to start with, make sure they're what fits your truck, you need them, and know they're in good shape.
20" wheels more so than 22.5" tubeless can look OK on the outside and have lots of rust inside, you don't find out until after wrestling with it for some time and or paying to have someone else more practiced wrestle the tire off.

Good luck, I hope you can find some of the elusive 22.5" 10 lug on 7.25".

I have access to a tire machine I can use, so that will cut the cost some. I'm still waiting to hear from him, I thought it would be today. I'll call him at work on Monday and see what is happening.

Wil a tire machine break the bead on 20 and 22.5" tires, and dismount a 22.5"?

I finally got with the guy who took me to the barn where all this was supposed to be and he said someone took all the wheels out of the barn, so I have nothing. He is going to check with the landowner and see if he can track the wheels down, but thinks they dumped everything. I'll keep my fingers crossed but it sounds like those wheels are gone.

" the front only uses every-other hole."
I believe the NAPCO conversions used all 10 on the front, too. Easy way to spot a NAPCO with limited visibility wink ....

Bummer. At least you made an effort.
