For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 24 Junior Member | | Junior Member Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 24 | I've decided that rather than pay a bodyman hourly to fix dents and rust... for the same money I can probably buy a new fender.. perhaps doors..and I like the look of fresh glass.. so I was just wondering what experiences other stovebolters have had buying fenders, doors, glass.. The shipping cost for the glass seems high... I wouldn't mind making a trip to the sellers facility if I knew the glass shipped from there... instead of the glass factory. If I was able to pick up fenders from same place it might make my trip worthwhile monetarily... I live in Texas..but I also used to drive 18wheelers... so a 500,1000, 1500 mile trip is really no big deal to me. Anyway... floor is open to your ideas... Flat panes are no problem as they can cut the glass to size, you can also get windsheild and backglass from them. You will most likely have to provide your own gaskets though. For panel, go to the nearest swap meet. Theres almost always someone who has sheet metal, new and used. Sometimes you can even score NOS parts still in the box. Got a NOS '55 tailgate that way. Looks like thers a swap meet on Jne 24-25 in Ft. Worth at LaGrave Feild. You may want to check it out.
