Searched everywhere. Any advice? Both are grooved pins, one is 3/4" dia. and the other is 3/8" | | | | | Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 34 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 34 | I gave up trying to find break parts for my 3600 - swapping out for 1/2 ton axles - sorry to the purists :-( but I'd really like to drive it safely | | | | | Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 9,115 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 9,115 | I have often wondered if a machine shop could make those pins copying an original. The springs seem to be fairly simple and something that would be available in an industrial supply. Also placing an ad in the parts wanted may bring results. Some suppliers that part out these trucks may have some. Mother Trucker comes to mind as a possible source. Jim Carter may even have some. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 9,115 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 9,115 | On Ebay, I see there is the front backing plate with the shoes and hardware for the Huck brake style 3600. I know you don't need all of that but you might want to give them a call to see if they can sell you what you need. I have dealt with RPM Motor Sports and I had a good experience. | | | | | Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 34 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 34 | Let me know how that checks out - I have to do the same thing | | | | | Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 34 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 34 | Actually Fancyt - what I have learned in the last few weeks is that you might actually be able to get the rear drum for your 52 at Napa - its the pre 1950's that are not available - check out Napa and see if they have yours I think they might - good luck :-)

Had a machine shop cut to the appropriate length and cut the groove. Works fine. I ground some of the round head down although don't think it was necessary. Also, the rear drums could not be located anywhere. I wound up replacing the rotors from Jims classic trucks and had the shoes relined by a local shop. I think they put too much pad on them as I could get the parking braked to fit so just decided to not use. Rather have more pad than parking brakes. | | | | | Joined: Oct 2016 Posts: 916 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Oct 2016 Posts: 916 | If you've still got a single circuit brake system, you might want to reconsider not havng a parking brake!
