I found a nice set of aluminum Rally wheels for my '55 2nd series. They have corrosion where the wheel weights were. Whats the best way to strip the clear coat and polish them.

I used Mothers aluminum polish and a lot of elbow
grease on some I had that were really bad. came out great. used a little buffing wheel on elect. drill for the heavy work. Like new

Try checking with Eastwood or Resto-Motive, they both have kits for refinishing aluminum wheels. I think they include a stipper to remove the old
clear coat .

Bob,
If you wet sand the rusted area with 1200-1500 grit first it will save you a lot of polishing.
