Cool, finally found this forum. Thanks y'all for the welcome. Glad to join your ranks. Course the last time I volunteered ole Uncle Sam kept me in the dark and covered with, ummm, stuff for 4 long years. Funny, now when I look back I think kindly of it, but certaintly didn't whilst the USMC owned me LOL.

I was in Marine aviation and turned wrenches on the GSE gear that kept those amazing flying machines operational, both fixed and rotary wing. Spent time on an aircraft carrier and traveled around the world. I highly think the USA is the greatest nation ever devised by man but also think many of our allies are very good too. Unfortunately I think that most of the rest of the world is lost and searching.....

A little about myself. Married to the same Gal for 34 yrs, 1 grown daughter who's blessed me with two grandsons, currently 2 and 5 yrs old.

I did moderate on a tractor forum a few yrs back, www.mytractorforum.com but stepped down for various reasons. My work load got high due to loosing a co worker to disability and a general difference of opinion when the site was bought out and new management assumed control. I'm pretty mellow anymore and don't mix well with chest thumpers....
I still enjoy visiting there and it's still a good site with many great members, I do recommend it.

How I got selected here is kinda crazy LOL. I used my VA benefits to attend an electronics school and got into the telecommunications industry. This is a constantly evolving trade that changes once you get the present technology down pat. I grabbed on and have been holding on ever since LOL. Anyways, I know just enough about IT to be very dangerous and I guess I responded to a couple posts re. IT themed questions and John and Tiny must have seen an opportunity to dump it on me LOL. J/K
I'm no expert but do know a little.
I'm down to counting months until I take early retirement and just may get laid off before then as the outfit I work for, EarthLink has been bought out by a bigger outfit, Windstream. They already have a presence in most if not all the areas we're in, manpower and facilities, and most of us field techs are expecting to be down sized or let go. I'm actually hoping to be let go LOL.

Anyways that's me. Hope to get to know y'all more as well.

Oh, I have a 49 3100 that I pulled out of a barn and discovered this site whilst I learned about it and got it running. I HIGHLY enjoy it as I use it as my Saturday morning therapy, and it definitely is therapy.
