I have a 1940 Chevrolet 1-1/2 ton panel. I'm wanting to remove the body so I can paint the frame. I know there is more than one way to skin a cat, so what is the best way to go about doing this since the body is so large and heavy?

ibdots13, when I had my panel body ready to set off I recruited my neighbor and 3 other big guys. They picked the body up and set it on two rolling pipe made supports.....
But then My panel is only a 1/2 ton so you would probably need SIX people. But it can be done the hard way!

Thanks for the help fellas. I think I will lean toward option B. I am short one large crane or that would be a great option. Another question, the rear roll pan under the barn doors is gone. Should I install a new one before I remove the body?

I would at least cut the old one out and tack the new one in place before removing the body. Might just save you from twisting things out of alignment. JMO
