Am I supposed to sand that then prime it before I start putting body filler on the pieces? Does it really matter? Can I start putting body filler on top of the epoxy, then sand, then put primer on it or what? I guess I'm just confused as to what the steps are for completing this

It is good practice to use the primer while body work is progressing to protect the bare metal from rust and give you a guide coat so when you sand and file you can find the low spots.

They say it keeps any moisture from getting to the metal through the filler and primer coats. Also when done sanding and feathering, reapply epoxy primer over any bare metal spots. This has worked on my cab. I used this technique and no rust after 2 years. My plan is to paint the cab this summer. I used PPG DP60 epoxy primer & PPG K36 fill primer over it. | | |
