Looking at the two side by side it looks like it would work.the top of the grille surround on the gmc makes up for the indent in the hood.
Any ideas?

Also the Chevrolet grill bar ends extend beyond the fender edge. This would be a big problem with the GMC grill surround.
Can it be made to work? ANYTHING can be made to work...

I once saw a display gmc that had a Chevrolet grill bolted into it. Mind you I wasn't about to go look closer as that would have required fence jumping and trespassing! Of course there was a big gap where the gmc hood rose up and I can't recall if the gmc grill surround was still on. I suspect latching might be concern. It was a gmc truck though judging from the tailgate and hood.
I should dig up a picture as it had two of my favourite things: old trucks and dinosaurs!
Picture this: completely rust covered 1950 GMC ( with said Chevy grill) sitting at a 4-way intersection corner in a hay field. Grass mid way up the tires, a very large steel cage riding in the truck box carrying...wait for it... A velociraptor!! (Actually a Utahraptor. Jurassic Park made some errors!)
