The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Paint and Body Shop Has any one done this before?

I Have thought about building a pickup or truck cab/front clip from scratch because of bodys rusting so bad and the cost of specalty stuff to restore a old one and also because of how hard some things are to find. There is a Ford in the Truck trader this month that some one built useing a ford cab and building the front end. Seeing this has got me to thinking agin.

People make bodies and frames when making
replica looking hot rods. Thing is they have
the equipment and knowledge to take sheet
steel and C channels and turn them into a
frame and car body, fenders, running boards.

Problem is people can learn how to make things
much easier then afford the tools, equipment

There were alot of guys building cars from scratch with very little equipment before WWII.I was thinking about building a COE or building a pickup useing a semi cab of the 40s or 50s style on a 80s frame just day dreaming for now.
