The engine was original to the truck and it has a factory PCV system on it. On the passenger's side of the block where the draft tube normally is, there is a stand pipe with no draft tube on it that has a npt fitting in it with 90 screwed into it and then a metal PCV valve screwed into that. From there it's hard-piped across the valve cover to a fitting on the intake below the carburetor. I have no doubts that its a factory setup, I've just never seen anything like it before on any engine this old. Is this a rare piece or was it common on 261's of this vintage?
1950 4100 - unrestored and driven weekly for almost no reason at all.

In 1952 it became an option for some other Chevrolet truck engines. | | | | Joined: Aug 2000 Posts: 248 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Aug 2000 Posts: 248 | Also fitted on WW2 Canadian trucks for the 216.......
