There are other options, including disc brakes on the straight axle or a front clip on the original chassis. A 55-59 body on a Tahoe/Yukon chassis would be a spectacular combination. I have seen a Tahoe do unbelievable feats pulling out stuck vehicles in loose sand.

1st off I would want my truck to handle like a fairly late model truck...what chassis would be the right fit ?
2. I thought I needed a chassis that has the same wheel base as what I have
3 I would prefer to buy a chassis that has disc brakes all around ,w the up to date front end . so Im shopping around for such a chassis

One thing to look out for other than wheel base, is big humps in the "new" frame. Your stock frame is pretty flat. If the "new" isn't, you will need to do some extra fabricating to make it work.
