Are you going to do a frame off or just touch it up? Do you have solid floorboards? | | | | | Joined: Jan 2005 Posts: 192 Member | | Member Joined: Jan 2005 Posts: 192 | well i do but i need to move it in and out when the shop is needed. it needs new floors ,i was looking for another cab but after a year of searching i am out of luck, | | | | | Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 1,513 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 1,513 | I would collect all the patch panels before you start. I bought over $1000 in cab panels alone so taking a couple years to collect everything took some of the sting out of it. In the mean time drive it, enjoy it, and study how others approached it. You can remove and fix the fenders one at a time before you tear it apart as well.

You might have to get one from down south in the states where they are usually in better shape. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 1,513 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 1,513 | After several hundred hours of metalwork you'll still have the cracked brake hose and wiper that doesn't work. Get a shop manual and tinker with the mechanical work first. The only rust that can stop you from a safety inspection is frame rot and if you've got that then park it in the bush. My wiper was frozen solid but removing, cleaning, and lubing is all it needed to work like new. Any mechanic can sign the safety so find a decent old guy and he'll want to see you get it on the road.
