I'm rewiring a '40 Chev and could sure use a picture of the inner fender panel so I can see what goes where. There are a couple of holes where the panel has been raised around the hole (or dimpled if looking from the other side). Not sure if anything attached there. Also curios how original wiring harness is routed to the panel. Probably thru '46 would be the same.
Thanks in advance.

I have a 46. if you are describing two dimples that project into the engine compartment at the top of the inner fender, toward the front, on the 46 they are used to mount a terminal block that the head lights are wired to.

Thanks Gene. That answers that one. How and where is the loom attached to the inner fender?

They use wire clips. If you look you will see that there is three or four holes that are below the mounting holes where the inner fender attaches to the fender. these holes are larger that the ones used to mount the inner fender to the fender. Good luck Jerry

My first prewar and it will not be my last. Done with the 40 for my best friend. Got a 46 (year I was born) to build for me.
