My '71 Vandura has a 250 straight six. Does anyone know of exhaust headers that would fit my van? Clifford Performance says theirs won't fit.

That's a very good thing. With a little bit of luck, nobody else's will, either. Do you really want the engine compartment temperature to go up enough to melt the carpets? Unless you're planning to run at or near wide open throttle for extended periods of time, a regular exhaust manifold will give you better overall performance than anything but a set of custom-fabricated equal length tubes. Nobody's off the shelf headers that I know of are equal length. All of them raise engine compartment temps dramatically and they're extremely noisy. Just what a van needs- - - -more engine noise!

Well. I'm glad you got that off your chest!

Seriously though, that's a very helpful comment and thank you for it.

Langdon makes a cast iron two-part manifold that will split the output and let me run two pipes. I could do that without melting the carpets, couldn't I?

Much better choice than anybody's tube steel headers! Then you only have to worry about twice as many exhaust system parts to replace as they rust/burn out.
